Hidden inside the mountain,the existence of this special house is mysterious. It is built of stones,abandoned before the construction was finished, and is covered with graffiti.It is not a civilian house, nor a kiosk for entertainment. According to localfolklore, During the time of the Great Cultural Revolution, there was amysterious troop stationed inside Gaoting Mountain, they built a batch of militaryproject, and this stone house is one of the relics of those militaryengineerings，probablyserved as a watchhouse. It is said that the fortification was constructed byLin Biao’s trusted followers, and was one of the 571 projects. ‘571’ ishomophone for ‘armed uprising’, and was closely related to the 704 projects atMaojiabu at the lakeside of the West Lake. After Lin Biao’s plane crash on 13^th September, 1971, the unfinished military projects were abandoned. The stonehouse became more and more deserted with time. It is now cleaned up andreorganized for display as one of the special historical sites inside thescenic region.
